Helped our child to stop BedWetting

Bedwetting Often happened to our children especially in the age before 6 years. It is fairly common and is often just a developmental stage.

Some of the causes of bedwetting include the following:

- Genetic factors (it tends to run in families)
- Difficulties waking up from sleep
- Stress
- Slower than normal development of the central nervous system (which reduces the child's ability to stop the bladder from emptying at night)

- Hormonal factors (not enough antidiuretic hormone is produced, which is the hormone that slows urine production at night)
- Urinary tract infections
- Abnormalities in the urethral valves in boys or in the ureter in girls or boys
- Abnormalities in the spinal cord
- A small bladder

Bedwetting is not a mental or behavior problem. It doesn't happen because the child is too lazy to get out of bed to go to the bathroom. By the age of 6 years, most children no longer urinate in their sleep. Bed-wetting up to the age of 6 is not unusual, even though it may be frustrating to parents. Treating a child for bedwetting before the age of 6 is not usually necessary.

My doughter stopped bed wetting in the age 6,5 years. This is my methods to stopped the bed wetting:

- I gave the understanding than will embarrass if she continued bedwetting until she grown up, so we must do something to stopped it. I did this to generate her wish to do something.
- She had to go to the bathroom right before going to sleep
- I also cover the mattress with a plastic cover to prevent wet everywhere and to make the cleanup easier
- I told her that she could wake me up to accompany her to the bathroom during the night
- and thank God we did it
