On November 11 2009, my eldest daughter was in the hospitalization caused was affected by the Urinary Tract Infection (Bladder Infection). There was no sign exactly before, at that time she felt the constant urge to urinate and repeatedly urinating with pain arround the right part of her stomach, seems like she lost the ability to control her urine, and in the evening she got a high fever.
The doctor said when there were a high fever, the possibility was the infection had travel to the kidneys. After being done tests during hospitalization, that was proven.
So parents, Be on the alert against this illness because the signs were not almost seen until the infection has been serious (in the case of my doughter).
You can do the matters that better be done according to my doctor to prevent this illness:
1. don't let your child hold their urine, holding in urine can allow bacteria to form, causing a urinary tract infection.
2. always wipe from front to back - from vagina to anus-, because the germs from the anus can easily spread to the vagina if you wipe from the anus to the vagina after a bowel movement.
3. for boys, ascertained the cleanliness in genitals area.
4. Constipation also could become the cause of the urinary tract infection, when the child had difficulty defeating, the hard waste could wet arround the underpants of the child and the bacteria could creep into vagina and caused the infections. Therefore, dealt with the problem of your child's constipation since early.
5. be on alert when the child lost their appetite, nausea, look sick and more tired, less active than normal or bedwetting.
Speaking of bedwetting, (read my post about bedwetting) , I believe it's true that my doughter's bedwetting possibly was caused because of the urinary tract infection. Some time after coming home from the hospitalization, and after continuing matters that i and my doughter were done to stop bedwetting, evidently finally was successful.
