Preparing Children to Learn to Count

For parents who have school-age children, of course, will be faced with a condition which should help the child to begin to master the basic skills to be able to move into the next learning phase.

one of them the ability to be able to count, yes, math. Well, this founding process sometimes a bit difficult for us and for the child to be able to start.

Well, because I happened to come from a family of educators (although not down talent and not continue the legacy became educators .. J ), at least I'll share a little of my knowledge that may assist parents in helping their beloved children to learn to count.

- Start to introduce the numbers from an early age, ie at pre-school age eg 1-10 digits starting from the sound (the reference) and visual (writing numbers)

- Would be better if assisted by providing video learning about numbers, there are a lot of learning videos can be found in stores, especially with the theme of 'numbers'

- When the time together with family, or related to the moment, you can insert the numerology. for example, when your child takes an apple from the table. You can ask questions and demonstrate, how many apples are there on the table, when taken together, how many will stay ... and lots of moment-moment together that we can take advantage of learning to count

- Provide a toy that can help smooth counting, that makes children can play while counting

- look for math games software on a computer, most children love to play on your computer, you can direct the child's play math games

- Simple arithmetic method when children start learning to count, this method can be used for school age children kindergarten: to facilitate the children in counting, in addition of numbers, teach to keep the larger number first in the mouth, then he/she can use  her/his fingers to continued.

example: 9 + 3. store the number 9 in the mouth, and then continue add number with the fingers ==> directly mention to number nine ... (begin adding with the help of fingers) .. ten .. eleven…. twelve ...

- And ... give little appreciation when the child successfully learn to count for example with words of praise, encouragement, or by making origami stars form.

Well ... is there anyone want to add this? Hopefully  can be useful ....!
